The Last of Us and 15 Game Like The Last of Us

So I bought The Last of us about a week ago, played the story on 'Hard and I've never like a zombie apocalypse game more than this one! The Last of Us has a rich story along with an immersive  gameplay that had me in awe,The graphics was truly brilliant,Vibrant and textured. The player takes control of Joel (voiced and motion captured by Troy Baker), who is trekking across a post-apocalyptic United States in 2033, in order to escort the young Ellie (voiced and motion captured by Ashley Johnson) to a resistance group, the Fireflies, who believe Ellie may be the key to curing an infection that has ravaged the world. The player defends the characters against zombie-like creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus, as well as hostile humans such as bandits and cannibals, employing the use of firearms and stealth aided by capabilities such as a visual representation of sound in order to listen for locations of enemies. The player can also craft weapons or medical items by combining items scavenged in the world.Throughout their journey, Joel and Ellie use multiple ranged and melee weapons to help them defeat their enemies and continue through the levels. These include long weapons like a bolt action rifle, shotgun, bow, flamethrower, and assault rifle, as well as short-barreled guns like the pistol, revolver, scoped revolver-like handgun called the "El Diablo", and a sawed-off one handed shotgun called the "Shorty". There are also many different degradable melee weapons that can be scavenged from the environment like metal pipes, planks, baseball bats, machetes, and hatchets. Items like empty bottles and bricks can be picked up and thrown to distract or stun enemies, as well as be used as simple melee weapons.
Along with regular weapon and equipment slotting, the game also features a crafting system. By going into the backpack, the player can use recipes introduced throughout the game to forge useful supplies like Molotov cocktails from once useless consumables such as liquor, discarded towels, and broken razor blades. To force the player to make tough decisions based upon their current circumstance, all of the items created require some of the same consumables that can be used for another producible item. For example, the Molotov cocktail and health-kit items both require alcohol and rags to produce. Another aspect of the crafting system is that it happens in real-time, meaning that the game does not pause while crafting, forcing the player to choose their crafting time effectively in order to avoid being taken advantage of by enemies while busy. The player is also able to collect toolboxes and parts, in the form of gears, to help upgrade their arms at an array of workbenches set throughout the game. Things like the number of weapon holsters, fire rate, clip capacity, reduced recoil, and range can be increased.Training manuals can be collected to increase the effectiveness of crafted items as well. For instance, the durability of crafted shivs can be increased, as can the radius of a Molotov explosion. Joel's physical abilities are upgradable too. The player can do things like improve his health-bar size or increase his crafting speed by collecting pills and medicinal plants throughout the game.
The game also features periods of no fighting, where the player can explore the environment and engage in non-combat oriented actions. These sections often involve conversation between the characters, either automatic or optional via prompt, where they discuss their current situation, surrounding environment, make jokes, and so on.Along with that, there are a multitude of collectibles that can be scavenged from the environment and stored/viewed in the backpack. Objects like notes, posters, maps, can be collected to provide the player extra knowledge on their current environment and its former or current inhabitants. Firefly pendants, with the inscribed names of their former owners, and a series of comics titled "Savage Starlight" can be found as well. The player must also solve simple platforming dilemmas that the characters come across while traversing the levels. These involve boosting each other up, using floatable planks to get Ellie (who cannot swim) across bodies of water, and finding ladders or dumpsters to climb upon to reach higher areas.
The game features an AI system called "Balance of Power".This new system allows enemies to react realistically to any combat situation they are placed in by taking cover if they see the player, calling for help if they need it and even taking advantage of the player's weaknesses, such as when Joel runs out of ammunition, is distracted, or when he is being attacked by other enemies.

Now the Multiplayer i wasn't to fond of,simply because of the basic 2 Game Modes.Clans can be linked to your Facebook account, allowing your survivors to represent your friends list and profile pictures.  At the end of attacking events, you may be asked to choose between 3 friends to "live". The friend that you don't choose will die. This is purely cosmetic and does not change the gameplay or effects of events or days. While in lobbies or parties, you might see messages of your friends doing activities in the game, such as reinforcing barricades or tending the gardens. These messages reflect how your clan is doing, so if people in your clan are hungry, the messages will inform you.In Supply Raid, each team starts out with 20 respawns, and the goal of the match is to eliminate the opposing. Red loot boxes are scattered throughout the map, usually out in the open and dangerous to approach without teammates. These contain materials needed to craft items. Health kits are also scattered throughout the map. Teamwork is essential; being a lone wolf is not recommended. In Survivor, each player has one life per round without any respawns. The first team to win 4 rounds or have the most wins after 7 rounds wins the match. Teamwork and survival is more important because of the lack of respawning per round. There are more red loot boxes than in Supply Raid mode, and are usually located behind cover. Materials from red loot boxes and items crafted are not carried over each round, but armor and purchased weapons do. If you have more ammo for your basic weapons than you started out with, they will also be conserved through each round.

You can choose which team you can be-Fireflies or Survivors.
I chose Survivors simply because that's what you are in the
Story of the Game,Fireflies are the 'bad guys' who have all
the military equipment & supplies.

15 Games Like The Last of Us
Zombie Apocalypse

ZombiU

ZombiU places a nice little twist in the zombie apocalypse genre in the way your character dies. If you are killed by a zombie, you will permanently die. You will have to continue as another random character/survivor. In order to retrieve your previous inventory, you will have to kill your previous character who has turned into a zombie. The main characters in ZombiU are The Player, The Prepper, Dr. Knight, Sandra and King Boris. ZombiU is set in London, England in the year 2012 after an apocalyptic prophecy came true and a zombie outbreak envelopes the renowned city.

To finish it, you have to survive the outbreak. It's best played in a single player mode but there's an option for a multiplayer setting if you want to go head to head with other players. The graphics have a long way to go before it can even be compared with those of The Last of Us but overall, ZombiU is fun and enjoyable. After playing it, you will never look at a cricket bat the same way before.

A bit of trivia: ZombiU was formerly referred to as Killer Freaks from Outer Space. Honestly, I have no idea why they had to change it because that sounded awesome.

The Walking Dead

You could say that part of the reason why this game was such a success was because of the immense popularity of the comic book series from which it was loosely based and the television series on AMC. Those notwithstanding, The Walking Dead game series were nothing short of great. Consisting of five episodes, they came out between the first and last quarter of 2012. The five episodes were A New Day, Starved for Help, Long Road Ahead, Around Every Corner, and No Time Left. An additional episode called 400 Days was released in July of 2013. This is definitely a must-have for fans of anything related to The Walking Dead.

Developed and published by Telltale Games, The Walking Dead centers on the adventures of Lee Everett (a convicted murderer who used to be a college professor) and Clementine (a young girl who Everett rescued and had to take care of). The two main characters were caught in the middle of a zombie outbreak in the state of Georgia. Other characters include Kenny, Katjaa, Lilly, Chuck, Ben, Omid and Christa. The sixth (additional) epsiode 400 Days introduced five new characters. They are Vince, Russell, Shel, Wyatt and Bonnie.

Dead Rising

When it was released way back in 2006, Dead Rising gave a new face to the open world survival horror genre. Some gamers describe it as over-the-top and yes, Dead Rising is in many ways over-the-top but it's over-the-top in a good way. The main character in the game is an unfortunate photojournalist named Frank West who gets trapped in a shopping center with hundreds of blood-thirsty zombies. West must rescue survivors and constantly defend himself from attacks as he tries to uncover what caused the outbreak.

One of the best features of Dead Rising is that West can use anything he gets hold on as a weapon. If he can pick it up, he can use it to smash an ugly zombie's face. A list of weapons from the game compiled by Strategy Wiki runs to 115. These include barbell, baseball bat, fire extinguisher, frying pan, hanger, paint can, shampoo, stuffed bear, television, etc. In short, everything is a weapon. That's what makes Dead Rising really unique. And Frank West is charismatic as hell, too. Another good feature of Dead Rising is that it has seven alternative endings.
