Final Fantasy 15 News, Gameplay: FFXV is More Than Half Done
Square Enix are more than half way through developing Final Fantasy XV.
Game director Hajime Tabata told GameSpot that the game, which has been in development for eight years, is now about “55 percent complete.”
Apparently, that 55 percent came in the two years since Tabata joined the Final Fantasy XV project, so fans most likely don’t have to wait another eight years for the final product.
The demo, Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae,
which is slated for release with Final Fantasy Type-0 in March 2015, is about “80 percent” done, so there shouldn’t be any worries that it will never see the light of day.
Tabata estimates that the demo’s campaign will provide about an hour worth of gameplay. Fully exploring the world map, with all its dungeons and monsters, should up the total game time to about three to four hours.
If Tabata remains at the helm of a future numbered Final Fantasy game, fans might not have to wait too long.
In an interview with Kotaku, Tabata said: “If the development is for the PS4 and the Xbox One, then I think it would go smoothly.
“But, there are various factors to keep in mind, such as the amount of content and whatnot.
“So across the board, I don’t know if it would be shorter.
“Personally, if I was making another one, though, with the same process and for the same platforms, then development would be fast.
“We came this far in two years, so I think we could develop it quickly,” he added.
